Why Lviv Center of Science, Innovations and Informatization?
Lviv Center of Science, Innovations and Informatization conducts research of innovation potential of the region, provides informational and consultative support for all actors of innovation process, attracts funds through participation in EU projects of 6 and 7 Framework programmes. As a part of international consortia LvCSII performed researches on the priority of 6 Framework program (6FP) of EU “Information Society Technologies”, and also was a partner in many bilateral Ukrainian-German and Polish-Ukrainian cross-border projects, including the area of biomass and bio-energy. For the thematic priority “Information and communication technologies (ICT)” of 7FP EU Center implemented the project “Strategic cooperation of Ukraine, Belorussia and EU in ICT”.
Lviv CSII is a basic organization of two national contact points “Research for the benefit of small and medium enterprises” and “Information and communication technologies”.
Today the main activities of LvCSII are:

Facilitating the integration between science and industry, information and methodological support of investment, innovation and technological development of Lviv region.

Informational and consultation support of international and cross-border cooperation of Ukrainian scientists in research field.

Protection, evaluation and commercialization of intellectual property rights, market promotion of inventions and new technologies, cooperation with European network of centers of technology transfer.

Information support of the creation and development of small innovation enterprises to the stage of investment and formation of the regional innovation and production and artistic and cultural clusters.

Media-exhibition support of priority areas of scientific and innovation activity in the region.

Providing educational services to develop innovation culture in public.

Creation of databases for business, scientific and technical information.

Analysis of problems of interaction between R&D and business, government and local communities.
LvCSII works closely with NGO “Agency of European Innovations”, whose aims meet the objectives of LvCSII. This NGO has an experience of participation in the projects of EU 7 Framework Program and is interested to be the member of the cluster.

The composition of the cluster:
Scientific – Methodological Center of Agricultural Education. It is a state scientific institution of education, established under the order of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ukraine from February 13, 1997, number of the order 51, with the aim to coordinate, improve and unify the organization of scientific, training and methodological support of higher education institutions of accreditation levels of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ukraine at a higher and qualitatively new level. The competence of Scientific Methodological Center of Agricultural Education is coordination of teaching, scientific and international activity of agricultural education institutions.
Scientific Methodological Center of Agricultural Education is subordinate to the Department of Scientific and Educational Support and Rural Development Department of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ukraine and is a kind of a bridge between higher educational agricultural institutions and ministries.
The concept of rural development is currently being developed by the Ministry on the basis of educational and scientific production complexes, which will be created in agricultural universities under the coordination of Scientific – Methodological Center the training of leaders of rural local communities will be held, also models of various forms of management for agricultural households will be developed and information-consultative services for rural population will be provided. Scientific – Methodological Center of Agricultural Education has a wide network of contacts in Ukraine and Europe. It includes educational and scientific institutions, extension services, agricultural enterprises, cooperatives, NGOs and etc.
Scientific – Methodological Center of Agricultural Education is an associate member of ІСА – European Association of Agricultural Universities, Global Consortium of agrarian higher education – GCHERA. The Director of the Center is the member of scientific and technical council of Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ukraine. As a part of Ukrainian National Technology Platform “Food for Life” Scientific – Methodological Center of Agricultural Education together with its members and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ukraine can perform three basic functions: 1) creation of international network (networks) for information transfer and dissemination of knowledge; 2) organization of thematic workshops, round tables, trainings, etc.; 3) development and implementation of European projects to disseminate knowledge and technical assistance (Center has an experience in such programmes as Tempus, TAIEX, Parceco-Access) and also participation in scientific projects within the working package “Dissemination of the results”.
